Let It Go.

I feel better right now. 33 degrees with a 13 mph WNW wind, I had some 20 mph gusts - I dressed correctly.

Breathing was good. 3 in, 2 out on alternate foot step is instinctual now.
No discomfort. I know I need to use my gluts more.

I lifted yesterday for chest, back and arms. My arm swing benefited from that today. It's amazing how your arm swing encourages your stride.

I am a morning person, thus, a morning runner. I don't think I could do the summer series runs that start at 7pm.

I have to let go of runs that don't make me happy.  So far I'm pretty successful at letting go of other things in my life that don't make me happy. I'm sure I'll add this eventually too.

Thanks for putting up with my whining. My mother should have named me Mona.

  1. The summer series was always difficult for me because I could not run without a COMPLETELY empty stomach - like at least 6 hours empty. Also, it is still hot at 7pm in July. So for several years I suffered through them to be wtih my friends, but I never did well and I didn't really enjoy the runs. However, the free beer afterward I did enjoy and at consuming that I did excel!!! Theresa

  2. I always wish I was a morning running. The rare times that I do run in the morning, it really does set up the day nicely!

    1. I can't think of a better way to get a workout in - you're right. I have a tendency to think back on it during the day, and it improves my mood!

  3. I love morning runs, too. If I put it off, too much stuff going on during the day where I risk losing the run altogether. Like Theresa, I can't have too much in my belly, or else I'm running for "other" reasons. You get the picture. (I don't mean to imply that Theresa has potty issues)

    1. I'm still working on just what to eat before I train in the morning. I always need my cup of coffee first, though!
I try to eat the same way before a race.

  4. I love running anytime...but hate to run in hot weather...rain and snow and wind is okay...but not heat (think 80-90 degrees) it makes me so sick! Blessings sweetie

  5. Since this was the first time running in the cold, I can't remember what it was like running in the heat of summer last year. I'm having a feeling I'm NOT going to enjoy it at all, I'll have to agree with you on that one!
    Thanks for the blessings!
