A quick report while I'm on the mend..

54°,  WNW 4,  86% H,  UV 0,  Dp 45

This will be a short post. I developed a nasty ass migraine when I got back from my run, and 4 hours later it's in full bore.

Went to Bayville to do 2 - 3mile loops. Started out too fast. I think I did a decent job of moderating it though, as the run progressed. I remembered I only wanted to run 5, so I cut it short.

I wore my compressions, capris and long sleeve tech shirt, only because I was going to be by the water, and it was brisk this morning. I was too warm at the end of the run.

There was a bike ride assembling. I didn't catch the charity.

I achieved my goal of getting an average pace between 9:00 and 9:15 - but did not make good on staying within those limits during the run. I'll try again soon.

  1. A little of my personal migraine experience--I used to get them fairly often but was also replacing fluids with mega doses of diet pepsi (aspartame), When I stopped this, the migraines went away completely. My wife used to get them as well but then went gluten-free and the migraines more or less stopped but still gets the odd headache. Nothing much more debilitating than a migraine, hope you're feeling better soon!

    1. I tried a half Nuun electrolyte tab in 6 oz of water today for the first time.. the sweetener is sorbitol, but I can't believe I haven't been exposed to it in other products before. I try to stay away from artificial sweeteners whenever possible. I prefer real sugar. Thanks for sharing your experience! I started to feel better about 30 mins ago..

  2. I hope you feel better! I suffer from insane migraines. I was misdiagnosed with MS because I had so many lesions on my brain and there actually from migraines. I tried everything and I hate taking medicine, period. The best thing I have found is dramamine. Not only does it take away the pain of the migraine but also the nausea. Unfortunately, it knocks me out. Anyway, great pace, sounds like your making good progress!

    1. Wow.. from MS to migraines? I never knew migraines could cause lesions! I had a brain scan a few years ago to try to figure out why I lost my sense of smell, but everything was negative. This is the first time in a while I was nauseous. But it was fleeting.
Thanks, Flower! I'm hoping to get back to where I was before the injury!

  4. I get migraines after hard exercise as well, so I really sympathize. Nothing much seems to help (hydration, sleep etc). i take Relpax which really helps, don't know what I would do without that medicine. Glad you are feeling better.
